TR Merickel

I am Chief of the Kern County Probation Department and have worked for the Department since 1997.  The mission of Youth Connection closely aligns with my Department.  While Probation holds people accountable for their actions, we also provide them with opportunities to turn their lives around. The sooner a youth can be positively engaged the better outcomes will be. Youth Connections provides opportunities to at-risk youth prior to entering the juvenile justice system.  This early intervention is vital to their success and for the future of our Community.  This is why I have been proud to be a board member since 2014.
